The idea of intimate listening appears here as a listening spot embedded in the landscape, where no electronics are needed.
Two simple plastic tubes drive the sound of the Vettabbia channel to the ears of the listener, who sits on the riverside.
What happens at the water level is thus transmitted at a distance of six meters. Besides the water stream, which creates a two-voices stereophonic counterpoint, the resonance of the tubes themselves activates a sort of low pedal which accompanies the whole listening experience.
This installation, placed in the narrow land stripe behind the Chiaravalle Abbey in Milano, becomes a meditative and isolated place dedicated to the listening of a sound stream which is never the same, but at the same time stuck over a precise frequency, almost a drone.
