“Connecting” as a logical operation of the creative process (or of the recipient’s mind?) which tries to integrate elements apparently far one from the other.
“Zooming” as a linear path which starts from a general and superficial situation and tries to get closer and closer to a detail.
When the path is omitted, we need to find a possible grammar to logically juxtapose the “macro” and the “micro”.
